Project One is a two-seater ‘supersports car’ which brings Formula 1 hybrid technology from the race track to the road. With a system output of over 1,000 hp and a top speed beyond 350 km/h. Powering the mighty hypercar is a 1.6-litre V6 hybrid petrol engine with electrically assisted single turbocharging which comes directly from Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 racing car. The turbocharged V6 has one built in electric motor to reduce turbo lag and another two electric motors which drive each of the front wheels.

3. 2018 Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6
Powered by a 738-hp fully electric powertrain, The Vision is said to travel more than 200 miles on a charge. A quick-charging system can add 60 miles of range in five minutes, the company said. There are four electric motors, one for each wheel, allowing for all-wheel drive and torque-vectoring functionality. Performance claims include zero to 60 mph in less than four seconds and a top speed governed at 155 mph.

The drop-top Zagatos stick with the same 5.9-liter V12 mustering some 592 bhp and 465 lb ft of torque; that should be enough to guarantee 0-62 mph in comfortably less than 4.0 sec, according to insiders. If you have to ask how much the Zagato twins will cost, you probably can't afford them. The previously announced Volante run of 99 cars has already sold out, costing around half a million apiece; the Speedster is likely to be even more exclusive, with a run of just 28 models mooted, and you're not going to get much change out of £1.3 m.
