McLaren 720S (2017) Review
In performance terms the 720 S pushes ahead. The V8 gets a 200 cc capacity hike to 4.0-Litres and low inertia twin-scroll turbos to help reduce lag. It makes 710 bhp (720 ps), compared with 641 bhp for the 650 S and 661 bhp for the Ferrari 488. Even the P1’s engine – minus the electric assist, admittedly – only produced 727 bhp. Turbo lag isn’t completely eliminated, but it’s much better than in McLaren’s other cars, and the acceleration is phenomenal: 0-62 Mph in 2.8 sec and 100 mph in 7.8 sec.
